In-Vehicle Camping
ABOUT: Mentored by Ramsey Carter, Lillian Simon, and Peter Ducato, I contributed to over half of the company’s current product line through design updates and creating Sample Review Documents for factories. In addition, I worked on several new product concepts and prototypes during my internship.

My internship at LUNO taught me the importance of asking questions, starting projects with clear goals, and the value of collaborative thinking.
Sustainability Project
Context
With the launch of the LUNOs Foam camping mattress, I was tasked with developing a product that repurposed damaged or defective stock.
Their Re:Roam product line centered around camping, convenance and dogs.
Materials
While this product started with the goal of repurposing the foam mattresses, after going through the returned inventory, I found that certain air mattress sizes, and all the bags that they came in were not being utilized.
Experimentation
To best understand what would and wouldn’t work for the design, I explored different way of sewing and encasing the foam in order to understand what designs would be possible.
Manufacturing
I met with a local manufacturer to better understand their machine capabilities and collaborate on the design.
Techpacking
I created a detailed tech pack outlining the design as well as sourcing guidelines to ensure materials were used efficiently and waste was minimized.
Final Design
The final product uses almost entirely secondhand materials that otherwise would’ve ended up in the landfill.
